Vision U16 Girls Capture Challenge Cup - Dec 2012

The Vision U16 Girls Team lived up to its top seeding by capturing the Gold Medal on December 15th at the U16 Girls Challenge Cup, Championship East  at College Catholic Samuel Genest in Ottawa. 

This was the second tournament for the team in the Ontario Volleyball Association’s Youth Competition which leads up to the Provincial Championships at the RIM Centre in Waterloo in May. 

The Vision Team, after going undefeated in pool play, knocked off the number 5 seeded Leaside squad in the quarter finals and the number 2 seeded Maverick Trailblazers in the semis. In the exciting finals, the Vision Volleyball Club defeated the Durham Attack Black Team  17 – 15 in the third and decisive set rallying from a 14 – 11 deficit to win the gold medal. 

By capturing the tournament’s gold medal, the team will now move up to the Premier Division for the next O.V.A. event in January to compete as one of the province’s 9 elite club teams. 

Vision team members include: Annagh Macie, Kristen Zamperoni, Kate Bowness, Danyka Wall, Julia Allard, Courtney Pappano, Alex Stockfish, Tabitha Tremblay, Kristen Moore, and Chelsea Cadieux. The U16 team is coached by Dr. Karen Morris, Len Pappano and John Jeffries.
