The OVA appointed two individuals at their annual general meeting on December 1st.

The Ontario Volleyball Association (OVA) is pleased to announce the appointment of Amedeo Bernardi and Stephen Shamie as Directors at Large for the Association effective immediately.
At the OVA’s annual general meeting held on December 1st, a motion for the approval of the proposed By-laws and phased implementation plan was passed by the voting delegates. One of the provisions in the phased implementation plan enabled the Board of Directors within sixty days of the meeting to appoint two (2) Directors at Large. Both Bernardi and Shamie submitted applications to the OVA Nominating Committee outlining their impressive skill sets and extensive experience.
A native of Timmins, Ontario, Amedeo Bernardi is the Vice-President and General Manager for Ontera, a telecommunications company serving Northern Ontario. Amedeo holds a technology degree from Ryerson University along with certifications in project management and financial literacy. Amedeo Bernardi has extensive experience working in the telecommunications field, along with a wide network of contacts in the banking and legal sectors, the provincial government, municipal governments in Northern Ontario, the Toronto 2015 Pan Am/Parapan Am Games and is an alumnus of the 2012 Governor General’s Canadian Leadership Conference. Currently President of the Vision Volleyball club in North Bay, Amedeo is looking forward to working closely with other Directors and OVA staff to grow the sport of volleyball.
